Join us in celebrating Holi, the festival of colors from the land of the Himalayas as we dare to paint the skies of Boston in hues of red and blue and yellow and green. And all other colors you can imagine. Listen to some grooving live music from talented musicians, dance to the beats of DJ and enjoy delicacies from Nepal while you experiment what colors look good on you and your loved ones.
Games to Cultivate a Creative Attitude: 3/29 7:00-9:00pm
Utilizes a series of arts-based group games designed by the instructor to cultivate creative and critical thinking, promote collaboration and dialogue, and exercise multi-modal expression. The games involve imaginative reconsiderations of everyday objects, symbols, words, and spaces that are shared and developed collaboratively through various forms of artistic production (drawing, poetry, drama & movement). We invite our Queer and Trans community members to a 4 part series. Kamaria and Janhavi will be guiding yoga asana and space to workshop creative healing resources together. These classes are donation based....folx are encouraged to donate $5-$10 or whatever feels comfortable to honor the teachers offering (cash would be best but we both have paypals and/or venmo). BOMBAntillana Workshop Series with Lady: 3/13 6:30 - 7:30pm
Through a series of movement workshops we will explore Bomba, an afro-puertorican music and dance genre that was created by enslaved Africans, Taino/Arawak Native peoples of the island and the Spanish during slavery (17th Century) on the island of Puerto Rico. CityPOP artists Eli "Lady" Pabon will lead the workshops focusing on the 5 main rhythms of Bomba (Sica, Holande, Yuba, Cuembe and Seis).
Emotion workshop : Free your inner dancer! 3/25 12-2pm
Through a new, experimental approach and experiential exercises that we’ve designed, we’ll guide you through a process in which you can expand beyond what you “know” as your technique and your style and dive into “the unknown” of your infinite potential in a fun way.You’ll learn how to tune into your inner dancer so you can gain greater confidence in following your intuition on the dance floor.
